
Jerry Smith
Pennsylvania Representative of the Rigan Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association. He holds a black belt in BJJ, a black belt in Judo, 2nd degree black belt in Kyokushin karate, and instructorship certifications in USA Combatives from U.S. Navy SEAL (ret.) Patrick Tray, as well as Jeet Kune Do and the Filipino Martial Arts from Progressive Fighting Systems founder, the talented Paul Vunak. Jerry is also a retired U.S. Air Force Security Forces NCO with 24 years of experience teaching Ground Combat Skills, Combat Arms, and Security Operations. He is also a former Baltimore, MD Police Officer with assignments in Patrol, Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, District Stabilization Unit, Robbery, Gang, and Drug Units. Because of his experience with these subject matters, Jerry was hired as a Department of Defense contractor instructing members of the USAF (including members of the AF Special Operations Command) in firearms training, self-protection, anti-carjacking, and flight-deck denial.
Currently, Jerry is an active federal police officer in Philadelphia, PA teaching Active Threat Response Tactics and Firearms instruction.
