What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is a fighting style designed for the Israeli Military, the translation literally being “contact combat”. The style is very pragmatic, and geared towards real-life situations. It focuses heavily on your instinctual responses to situations, and honing what you naturally want to do. As such, it is not taught in the usual rigorous, technical way that most traditional martial arts are, and we instead work with you to give you the basics, and find what works best with you!
Are your classes beginner friendly/Do you have a class specifically for beginners?
Our primary focus is on the fundamentals, which is just as important for our black belts as it is our white belts! We find that having mixed-rank classes works fantastically, as our higher belts are able to direct the lower belts; you get one-on-one help, and your partner gets a more in-depth perspective by having to teach the technique!
Can I join even though I’m injured/physically impaired?
Absolutely! Krav is designed to meet you where you're at, and work with your body. Our expert instructors teach various different techniques for each situation, so you can find what is most comfortable. Additionally, our head instructor Anne has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and is happy to work with you on exercises to improve your strength and mobility!
