Our black belt training students participate in our basic classes as well as an additional 15 minutes after class for weapons, sparring, and Krav Maga training.
Krav Maga is a form of self-defense and physical training, first developed by the Israeli army in the 1940s, based on the use of reflexive responses to threatening situations. Krav Maga takes your natural responses to threats and through training makes them efficient, effective, and second nature. At Kirk's Martial Arts and Krav Maga, you will learn a curriculum of proven techniques, the principles upon which they were created, and the tactics you will need when rules no longer exist.
Our children's program is based in the principles and theories of Karate and Krav Maga. Training includes systematic exercises and maneuvers to improve a child’s mental and physical abilities. With Karate, students will learn discipline, focus and strength, while Krav Maga complements the training with a practical and realistic dimension. The goal of this program is children’s self-development through Martial Arts. Our kids program is one of most practical systems to teach kids self-defense and anti-bullying abilities along with developing personal qualities such as focus, self discipline, and confidence.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that teaches a smaller person how to defend himself against a larger adversary by using leverage and proper technique. The Gracie family, the founders of BJJ, modified judo and traditional Japanese jujutsu to create the art. It contains stand-up maneuvers, but it is most famous for its devastating ground-fighting techniques. Gaining superior positioning—so one can apply the style’s numerous chokes, holds, locks and joint manipulations on an opponent—is the key in BJJ.
